Terms of Service

Welcome to ApliNati. These Terms ("Terms") govern your use of the ApliNati mobile application and website (collectively, the "Service"). By creating an account or using the Service, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the Service.

1. Eligibility

You must be at least 13 years old to use the Service. If you are under 18, you may use the Service only with the involvement of a parent or guardian. By using ApliNati, you represent that you meet these requirements.

2. Your account

Account access is tied to your mobile number. You are responsible for keeping your password confidential and for all activity that happens under your account. Notify us immediately at support@aplinati.com if you suspect unauthorised access.

You may have only one personal account. Accounts cannot be transferred or sold.

3. Acceptable use

You agree not to use the Service to:

• Impersonate another person or misrepresent your identity or relationships.
• Create false family-tree nodes or claim relationships that do not exist.
• Harass, threaten, or send unwanted communication to other users.
• Send spam, mass invitations, or commercial solicitations.
• Upload offensive, illegal, or sexually explicit content.
• Scrape, copy, or harvest data about other users.
• Reverse-engineer, decompile, or attempt to bypass the security of the Service.
• Use the Service for purposes that violate Indian law.

We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these rules, with or without notice.

4. Content you provide

You retain ownership of the personal information and content you submit. You grant ApliNati a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to host, store, process, and display that content solely to operate and improve the Service. This licence ends when you delete the content or your account, except where retention is necessary to comply with law or resolve disputes.

You confirm that you have the right to provide any information about other people (e.g. names of deceased ancestors) and that doing so does not violate any third party's rights.

5. Relationships and family data

ApliNati is a tool to help you record and discover family relationships. It is not a legal record. Relationship suggestions, path-discovery results, and tree visualisations are based on data you and other users provide and may contain errors. You are solely responsible for verifying the accuracy of any relationship before relying on it.

Confirmed relationships require both parties to agree. ApliNati never auto-confirms a relationship without explicit user action.

6. Privacy

Your use of the Service is also governed by our Privacy Policy, which explains what we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have.

7. Service availability

We strive to keep ApliNati available, but we do not guarantee uninterrupted service. We may add, change, suspend, or remove features at any time. We may perform maintenance that temporarily affects availability.

8. Cost

The Service is free to use. We may introduce optional premium features in the future; if we do, those features will be clearly marked as paid before any charge is made. SMS charges from your mobile carrier (e.g., for OTP delivery) may apply.

9. Termination

You may stop using the Service at any time and request account deletion by emailing support@aplinati.com. We may suspend or terminate your account if you violate these Terms, harm other users, or as required by law.

On account deletion, your personal data is removed as described in the Privacy Policy. Some content (e.g., messages or invites you sent to other users) may persist in their accounts.

10. Disclaimer

The Service is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind. We do not warrant that the Service will meet your requirements, be uninterrupted, error-free, or that family-tree or suggestion data will be accurate or complete.

11. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by Indian law, ApliNati and its operators are not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or any loss of profits, data, or goodwill, arising from your use of the Service. Our total aggregate liability for any claim relating to the Service shall not exceed ₹1,000.

12. Indemnity

You agree to indemnify and hold ApliNati harmless from any claim or demand (including reasonable legal fees) arising out of your use of the Service, your violation of these Terms, or your violation of any third-party right.

13. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms when features change or for legal reasons. Material changes will be notified in-app, and the "Effective" date above will be updated. If you continue to use the Service after an update, you accept the revised Terms.

14. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of India. Any dispute arising from or relating to the Service shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Maharashtra, India.
